Kennywood may be up for sale, along with Sandcastle and Idlewild & Soak Zone.
According to amusement park trade publication Theme Park Insider and Reuters, the Spanish corporate owner of the three Western Pennsylvania landmark parks has moved to seek the value of all of its U.S. assets.
The publication says Parques Reunidos, EQT, has hired J. Morgan to conduct a review of the Parques Reunidos, which owns about 15 theme parks in the nation.
And that review could lead to the sale of its properties in the United States.
Other parks owned by Parques Reunidos include Castle Park in California, Adventureland in Iowa and more.
Kennywood opened in 1898 as a trolley park.
Parques Reunidos bought Kennywood, Idlewild, Sandcastle and two other parks in 2007 from Kennywood Entertainment Company.
