You've heard of using cameras to crack down on people who run a red light.

But now a Lehigh County state lawmaker is calling for their use to catch people who throw litter from their cars.

Republican State Representative Gary Day's bill would allow for PennDOT, the Turnpike and municipalities alike to set up enforcement zones where the cameras would be installed.

Each violation would carry a $200 fine.

$25 would go to the police department that reviewed the footage before the fine is sent.

After vendor and program costs are covered, any revenue left over would have to be used for litter clean up.
