Federal prosecutors say 31-year-old Andrew Augustyniak-Duncan, of Carnegie, threw pieces of concrete and a pipe at several police officers, hitting two of them in the head, causing concussions.

He was sentenced to 41 months in prison and three years of supervised release.

In July of 2020, the U.S. Attorney’s office indicted eight Pittsburgh residents for criminal activity that took place on May 30. The protest was sparked by the death of George Floyd in Minnesota just days earlier.

IED’s and bricks were thrown at police officers. Police horses were struck and police cruisers were set on fire in the riots.
