The Fred Rogers Center for Early Learning and Children's Media has been renamed the Fred Rogers Institute.

It's part of a rebrand that includes changes in mission, vision and values.

Executive Director Dana Winters said the organization felt in recent years, the old image was limiting.

“It gives us an opportunity to broaden our work, and to think deeply about how Fred’s legacy can be extended in many fields, not just early learning and children’s media.”

She said they'll now taker a bigger approach to academics and educational opportunities across the region.
