A local reporter is leaving television to work in the bakery business.
On Sunday evening, WTAE’s Ashley Zilka announced her time at Channel 4 is ending on Thursday.
Zilka spent the past 14 years in broadcasting working at stations in Zanesville, Ohio, Rochester, New York, Cincinnati, Ohio and St. Paul, Minnesota.
The Belle Vernon graduate came back to her hometown of Pittsburgh in 2021.
In a post on social media, Zilka thanks her viewers and colleagues.
Zilka & Company is a fourth-generation bakery supply company that was started by her great-grandfather in 1923.
The company has two locations in Allentown and in Hunker, PA.
