The makers of Iron City and I.C. Light Beer are going to soon open what will become the largest brewery in Allegheny County.

Rich Cook, the Director of Digital Media for Pittsburgh Magazine, talked about that on the NewsRadio KDKA morning show.

“Beer is expected to start flowing there in mid-May at Pittsburgh Brewing Company’s newest facilities. It’s a 170,000 square feet production space in East Deer.
There are also plans to make rye whiskey and bourbon there.”

Other long-term plans include a retail area, a restaurant and plenty of outdoor dining, a museum and all of it will be located on the Allegheny riverfront.
