Male driver flees after accident shuts down McKees Rocks Bridge

A crash on the McKees Rocks bridge shutdown traffic for a time on Friday afternoon.

Pittsburgh Public Safety says the two-vehicle accident happened just before 2 p.m. when an SUV, driven by a man was driving toward McKees Rocks when it crashed into an SUV heading toward Ohio River Boulevard.

The female driver of the SUV heading toward Pittsburgh and her “teen/young” daughter were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

The male driver fled the scene heading toward McKees Rocks. As of 5 p.m. Friday, is still at large.

The bridge was closed for about an hour while first responders worked to clear the scene.
