Man arrested, accused of shooting 3-year-old earlier this year

Police have arrested a 19-year-old man following the shooing of a 3-year-old in Duquesne earlier this year.

Allegheny County homicide detectives found the child shot in the abdomen inside a house on the 100 block of North 3rd Street on the evening of February 17.

Detectives determined Ammar Rodriguez was responsible for the shooting and issued a warrant for his arrest in March.

On Monday an officer in Downtown Pittsburgh say Rodriguez getting on a bus.

He was followed to McKeesport and taken into custody without incident by County Police and the US Marshal Fugitive Taskforce.

Rodriguez is in Allegheny County Jail and charged with Aggravated and simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and a firearms violation.
