A sheriff's deputy arrested a man in Downtown Pittsburgh last night accused of throwing a large rock into some glass doors at the Second Avenue Commons shelter.

Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin Kraus says Willie Jenkins became verbally abusive when he was arrested:

"He was highly cooperative with not only our deputies", he says, "but I believe when he was entering the jail, as well".

A staffer at Second Avenue Commons later told the deputy she told Jenkins he was banned from the shelter for a day for earlier behavior.

That's when Jenkins allegedly started throwing the rock at the doors.

He is charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and failing to register as a sex offender.
