A police officer was the target of a carjacking last night in Braddock.
Police say it happened around 9 p.m. in the 700 block of Baldridge Avenue.
They were responding to 911 calls about an assault and an attempted carjacking.
When officers arrived, they say 33-year-old Derek Moore became violent.
"The suspect somehow got into the passenger side of our police car and carjacked the officer that was driving, push her out of the car, and attempt to run her over." North Braddock Police Chief Isaac Daniele told KDKA-TV.
Daniele says officers fired shots at Moore, but he was not wounded. An officer with a minor injury was taken to a hospital.
He's facing aggravated assault, assault of a law enforcement officer, and resisting arrest charges.
