
A man was charged for attempting to abduct a child in Allegheny County according to authorities.
40-year-old William Goring of Coraopolis has been charged with kidnapping, attempting to interfere with the custody of a child, unlawful restraint, false imprisonment and aggravated assault.
Law enforcement was called Thursday to Coraopolis for reports of an attempted child abduction at the intersection of School and McCabe streets.
A 9-year-old girl was approached by Goring at her bus stop, had her mouth covered, had her hair pulled, and was walked away from the bus stop by him. The child was able to escape from Goring as the bus arrived according to police.
Allegheny County police identified the suspect as Goring, who is a stranger to the 9-year-old girl. He now awaits his trial.
