A man was arrested today at Butler Memorial Hospital for allegedly punching a 1-year-old baby in the face.
According to police, Nineteen-year-old Elijah Flick-Geibel was in a wheelchair heading to the behavioral health urgent care area when he got up and started walking away.
That's when he approached a mother with her infant son.
An employee hit a call button for help and police say the employee then heard a slap and the mother scream, "He hit my baby!"
The baby's face was red, but there were no obvious signs of injury.
Flick-Geibel allegedly told a police officer he believed he had to hurt the boy in order to get into heaven. He's now charged with aggravated assault of a victim less than six, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment.
