A suspect is in custody after an exchange of gunfire with police in Homewood Friday morning.
Police officers responded to a shot-spotter alert just after 3 a.m. in the area of North Lang and North Homewood avenues.
Officers were given a description of the suspect and when they arrived to the scene they found the man that matched the description. The suspect started shooting at them and they returned fire. No officers or the suspect were hit by any bullets.
The suspect was then taken into custody by police.
Officers are remaining on scene to continue their investigation.
