Oakdale man pleads guilty to attacking officers in Jan. 6 riot

A South Fayette man who was part of the January 6, 2021 riot at the US Capitol pleaded guilty this week to federal charges.

29-year-old Jorden Mink smashed a window with a baseball bat and handed items inside the building out to other rioters.

Mike was also seen striking nearby windows repeatedly with a baseball bat.

Video shows Mike spitting at officers guarding a door, throwing objects at them, including at traffic cone, a stick and more.

He also appears in a video armed with a long pole, the he used on officers at the entrance of the Capitol.

Mink pleaded guilty to a felony charges including, assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers using a dangerous weapon, theft of government property, along with aiding and abetting.

Mink faces a statutory maximum of 20 years in federal prison along with possible fines.

950 people have been arrested in almost every state for crimes related to the riot, including over 280 people charged with assaulting or impeding an officer.

His sentencing is in April.
