A market-style grocery store on Forbes Avenue in Oakland has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.
Pitt Market of Forbes was ordered closed after an inspection on Thursday.
Inspectors say the market was operating without a valid health permit.
The facility also didn’t submit construction plans and there was a “lack of final plumbing inspection, inadequate plumbing fixtures, improper fabrication design and installation of equipment.”
The report adds that the market did not “prevent possible customer contamination."
Five violations were discovered during the inspection as well, but four of them were considered “low-risk” and one “medium-risk”.
Any updates and the inspection report can be found HERE. As of Monday morning, the order to close is still active.
The Market on Forbes offers fresh produce, other market items, sandwiches, desserts, coffee and more.
