Respected Pgh. Youth football leader charged in cocaine bust

Wednesday Headlines

Pittsburgh's Headlines: October 21, 2026

Eight people, including a Pittsburgh youth football president, are charged in a “large-scale” cocaine trafficking ring.

United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced Wednesday that 59-year-old Martin Langford is charged for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine and distributing 500 grams or more of the drug on two separate occasions.

Langford is the president of the Westside Mustangs Youth Athletic Association in the West End. The organization is one of the groups that received money through the City of Pittsburgh’s Stop the Violence grant program.

Langford was honored earlier this year as part of the New Pittsburgh Courier Men of Excellence Award Ceremony in August.

Langford has been part of the West End youth football program since the late 1990s.

He is also the owner of 412 Entertainment, J/G Trucking and CDL Properties.

In 2019, Langford was honored with his own day in Pittsburgh for his community work.

The indictments come after a 15-month-long Homeland Security Task Force investigation into drug trafficking between June 1, 2025 and September 1,2026.

“This Indictment is another great example of law enforcement at all levels collaborating to take down an extensive cocaine trafficking organization within our district,” said United States Attorney Rivetti. “This office and our law enforcement partners will continue to stand together in investigating and prosecuting those who conspire to harm our communities and destroy lives through the distribution of illegal controlled substances.”

“I’d like to thank our federal, state, and local partners for their collaboration, dedication, and tireless work throughout this investigation,” said Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Chief Jason Lando. “This Indictment reflects what can be accomplished when law enforcement agencies work together to disrupt drug trafficking. This partnership is also one of the reasons why we continue to see a decrease in shootings and homicides in our region, making Pittsburgh a safer place for all.”
