Masks are mandatory in North Allegheny schools today.
A federal judge issued a temporary restraining order Monday directing the school district to reinstate a masking policy for now.
Last month, the school board voted to let parents decide if their children will wear masks at school.
But a small group of students and parents filed a lawsuit contending a mask-optional policy puts medically vulnerable students in jeopardy, violating the Americans with Disabilities Act.
