Massaro Construction Group has a history of giving back to the community and it's continuing in a big way.
At the start of February the company started a virtual challenge with employees. The company was split into four teams, competing against each other to raise money for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.
The goal was a pretty good one.
Joe Massaro is the company's President and CEO. He tells me they were hoping to raise $10,000 but instead, ended up with more than $36,000.
Wow! So with the company matching those donations they're sending nearly $75,000 to the food bank. Consider the fact that each dollar raised is a meal for 5 people. That's more than 300,000 meals.
Massaro is currently doing construction work or the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank so they've seen the work they do up close. I mentioned other things that Massaro has done in the community. You can see some of that kindness in our previous story that touches on the Massaro Serves program.
