One McDonald’s restaurant in Southwestern PA was ruled “out of compliance” after an inspection by state officials on Tuesday.
The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety says the McDonald’s on 7th Avenue in Beaver Falls have five total risk factors following the inspection.
They include improper cooling of food and cross contamination.
Inspectors say raw hamburgers were being held at temperatures between 48 and 50 degrees in a bottom drawer. Cold-holding food needs to be at 41 degrees or lower.
The ambient temperature of the cooler was 46.3 degrees and all of the burgers were thrown away. The cooler will not be used until it is fixed.
In a milk cooler, mike was found at a temp just under 47 degrees in a bottom drawer. The milk and creamers were thrown away.
An employee was seen wearing gloves handling raw meat then putting their hand inside a bag of onions, “contaminating the bag of onions.”
