Grocery chain Meijer is planning to close its property acquisition for a new store in Jackson Township Thursday.
The property is located at Jackson Pointe Commerce Park off Route 19.
This is the second location Meijer plans to open in Butler County.
It is also in the process of developing a Cranberry Township location off of Route 228.
That Cranberry store recently won approval to sell alcohol.
The store would offer groceries, drive-through pharmacy service, electronics, retails items and curbside pickup.
Meijer was founded 90 years ago in Greenville, Michigan and operates nearly 260 stores, mainly in the Midwest.
In addition to groceries, Meijer also sells electronics, outdoor items, clothing, shoes and more.
Meijer also plans to run a gas station and convenience store next to the building.
The closest Meijer location to Pittsburgh is currently about an hour away in Boardman, Ohio.
There is no opening date for either new Meijer store in the Pittsburgh area.
