Kennywood, Sandcastle and Idlewild will honor military service members this 4th of July weekend by offering them free admission to the parks.

All active and retired service men and women can take advantage of the offer when visiting any of the three parks from July 2-5.

In addition, they'll be able to purchase up to three discounted tickets for family and friends at a cost of $20 each.

“As we approach the July 4 holiday, honoring our military members is one of the most important things we can do,” says Mark Pauls, Kennywood/Sandcastle General Manager. “We’re proud to offer military members and their families a chance to come to our parks and enjoy a day of family fun!”

The parks will be open for extended hours through the holiday weekend.

Kennywood will also feature live music and the Wiener 100 dachshund races scheduled to take place at 2pm on Saturday.

At Sandcastle, extra hours will give visitors time to float on the Lazy River, which just reopened on June 29.

And fireworks at Idlewild will cap the Independence Day celebrations for the family of theme parks. The explosive display will take place at 9:30pm on Sunday, July 4.

“We are thrilled to host this year’s fireworks show,” says Brandon Leonatti, Idlewild & SoakZone General Manager. “Following a challenging 2020, we can’t wait to welcome Guests for a truly memorable Independence Day at Idlewild!”
