PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) — After launching a search for the missing Maxine Gillis, age 79, Pittsburgh Police found her body in Wilkinsburg Saturday.
Gillis had been dropped off by a taxi coming from the VA Hospital to a family member's house at around 1 a.m. on Friday, March 19.
But family members said that she never arrived.
Gillis's whereabouts were found on Saturday evening, around 5 p.m.
The Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that the body found in Wilkinsburg is Maxine Gillis, and the Allegheny County Police are now investigating the death.
