The Monongahela incline is back up and running, after it was closed for 10 days.
Operators said an air conditioning unit inside an electronics cabinet created excessive condensation.
This caused the emergency brake to engage and the cars to stop unexpectedly, leaving riders stranded for about an hour.
Pittsburgh Regional Transit spokesman Adam Brandolph, says they have fixed the problem.
“We worked to . . . reduce the amount of condensation that the air conditioning unit was creating, we believed we have remedied that issue and so we reopened the incline (Monday) morning at 5:30,” said Brandolph.
So far, no issues have been reported.
