A busy and sometimes dangerous intersection in Monroeville is being redesigned thanks to a grant from the state.
The intersection where Mosside Boulevard comes together with Haymaker Road, Gateway Campus Boulevard and McGinley Road, had 13 traffic related deaths between 2021 and 2024, and carries almost 16,000 vehicles per day.
It's near Gateway High School and AHN Forbes Regional Hospital.
The hospital has led the way in wanting to redesign the intersection.
The $3.34 million grant will create a new main entrance to the hospital complex among other changes.
The redesign project should get underway within the next two years.
