Part of I-79 is being closed over the weekend. It's part of an ongoing project on the Neville Island Bridge.
Beginning Friday night at 9 p.m., PennDOT will close the southbound lanes of I-79 across the Neville Island Bridge, which runs over the Ohio River between the Emsworth, Sewickley and Coraopolis interchanges.
It will be the first of four straight as the span's rehab project enters a new phase.
The detour will be posted, but motorists can also use the Parkways North and West as alternates.
The span is expected to reopen by 5am
