New information about the gunfire at last month's Trump rally has emerged.
In the moments after gunman Thomas Crooks fired eight shots, wounding former President Trump, killing Cory Comperatore and critically wounding two other men, a Butler SWAT officer fired a shot at Crooks from about 100 yards away.
That bullet hit the stock of his rifle and fragmented, hitting his face, neck and right shoulder.
The shot knocked Crooks down but he popped back up after a few seconds and that's when the Secret Service sniper fired the fatal shot.
The new details are in a report from Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins.
Bulletproof glass will be used to protect the former president at future outdoor campaign events.
The ballistic glass is one of several security measures being implemented to protect Mr. Trump, who has not held an outdoor rally since the assassination attempt.
