The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission is holding a No Hate in Our State Town hall meeting in Squirrel Hill.
It was prompted after antisemitic messages began airing on police scanners.
Shawn Brokos of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh says her hope is the event will bring communities together, “and talk about ways to best support each other and really empower one another instead of leaving with a feeling of the increased threat level and the fears and the anxieties it brings.”
Brokos says the Federation's online reporting tool has seen a spike in threats since the military action in Iran, with 66 cases reported so far this year, up from 59 last year.
The event will take place from 6-8 p.m.at the Jewish Community Center on Forbes Avenue.
