North Park and South Park ice rinks to open for 2020-21 season

There will be some restrictions this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The ice rinks at North Park and South Park will open for the 2020-21 season on Friday, December 4 at 12pm.

The Allegheny County Parks Department made the announcement Thursday.

There will be some restrictions this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Public skating sessions will be limited to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays as well as holiday sessions and only 100 skaters will be permitted per skating session.

In addition, face masks and physical distancing will also be required.

Other changes for this season include:

No season passes will be sold;
No concessions will be available at the rinks;
No outside food or drinks will be permitted;
No birthday parties or other celebrations will be permitted;
No group tickets will be sold.

Tickets can be purchased on the Allegheny County Parks website up to an hour before each session.
