A popular Italian North Hills restaurant, known for its famous meatballs, is closing, but will re-open under new ownership.

DiPietro's Ristorante, which opened their doors on Perry Highway in West View back in 1979, is getting a new owner.

After 45 years, the DiPietro family says it is stepping away from the business and selling it to another North Hills family.

In a Facebook post, the family says much of the business will stay the same, except for maybe an expanded menu.

The DiPietro family thanked their customers that “made it possible for our family to achieve the American Dream.”

In the meantime, the restaurant remains closed until renovations are complete.
