Former President Obama rallied with voters Thursday night at a packed Fitzgerald Field House in Oakland.

Barack Obama criticized comments made by former President Trump at his Butler rally last week about people affected by Hurricane Helene being shortchanged by the federal government.

“The idea of intentionally trying to deceive people in their most desperate and vulnerable moments, and my question is when did that become okay?” asked Obama.

Obama also told those at the rally that Democratic Nominee Kamala Harris has plans to lower prices and help small businesses, while Republican Donald Trump is concerned only with his ego and status.

“Do not boo, vote,” said Obama to cheers. “They cannot hear your boos, but they can hear your votes.”

Obama said Trump's behavior is not a sign of strength. He said real strength is taking responsibility for your actions and telling the truth even when it's inconvenient.

The former president urged voters to elect Harris as president and to return Bob Casey to the Senate.

Casey joined Obama on stage.
