Allegheny County Police are congratulating own of their own for helping a trapped woman and her family in Natrona Heights.
Police say Patrol Officer Don Barry responded to a wooded area in Harrison Hills Park on Wednesday evening after a 911 call stated a woman in a wheelchair was tapped along a trail with her teenage daughter and dog.
Barry coordinated with 911 to find the woman's location.
The woman and her family were rescued safely before dark.
"Great work by all involved," a post from Allegheny County Police said.
