First the Turtle, now the Racer.
The Racer roller coaster is Kennywood's second ride to close early this year for preservation work.
The park says both of the 96-year-old coaster's lift hills will be replaced and re-tracked by Kennywood's in-house team, totaling over 1,000 feet of lumber.
The last day to ride the Racer this season will be this Saturday.
The Racer features two coasters on one track "racing" around and ending on a different part of the track.
It's expected to be ready for opening day next year.
The Turtle closed earlier this season for some rehab work as well.
Kennywood’s Phantom Fall Fest begins on Friday, September 22 and is open weekends through the end of October.
