One person dead after train accident in Beaver County

One person is dead after being hit by a CSX train overnight in Beaver County.

It happened on the Monaca-Beaver Bridge around 12:30 a.m.

Two others at the scene were not injured.

The identity of the person who died has not yet been released.

CSX released the following statement to KDKA Radio following the incident.

At approximately 12:33 a.m. this morning, a CSX train came into contact with an individual trespassing on the railroad tracks near the east end of the railroad bridge over the Ohio River near Atlantic Avenue and Fourth Street in Monaca, PA. Unfortunately, the individual was fatally injured as a result of the incident. CSX appreciates the quick response of the Beaver County first responders. The incident is under investigation.
