
One person is dead after a train versus car collision Wednesday morning in Westmoreland County.

It happened around 10:30 a.m. near the crossing at 2rd Avenue and 4th Street.
According to the Westmoreland County Coroner, 76-year-old Mary Keegen, of Sewickley Township, was traveling on 4th Street and began to travel through the railroad crossing.
The train was traveling east through the crossing, striking Keegen’s vehicle.
Per officials, the train initiated its breaks and horn upon approaching the crossing. It appeared the vehicle did not stop at the crossing.
The Westmoreland County Coroner ruled the death an accident.
