Are you packing on the pandemic pounds?

Have you packed on some pandemic pounds? If so, you're not alone.

Working from home has its conveniences, but not all of them are healthy.

A recent national survey found that more than 60% of Americans have gained weight during the pandemic.

Allegheny Health Network Dietician, Kelsey Hunter, isn't surprised, based on her patients' experience.

"Due to the stress of the pandemic, they're binge eating. So, a number of them are really coping in unhealthy ways with food," she said.

Hunter, tells her patients to write down trigger foods - which often include sweet and salty snacks - and then avoid buying them.

She adds that working from home also means less activity. "You have less activity at home, you're on Zoom calls, you're not moving around as much as you would in the office."

Hunter says some medications for anxiety can also lead to weight gain.
