The Pennsylvania Health Department has reported the highest daily increase of COVID-19 cases in the state on Thursday.
There were 2,900 new positive cases, which now puts the statewide total at 220,566 cases.
In addition, 47 new deaths were also reported.
Allegheny County added 189 new cases on Thursday, brining the county total to 16,599 since March.
On Wednesday, the U.S. tallied its highest one day case increase with more than 104,000 new infections.
