
St. Patrick’s Day celebrations has come and gone, but not for everyone.
IUPatty’s celebration in Indiana, Pennsylvania at IUP is this weekend and State Police say they will be monitoring the celebration that is scheduled from Thursday, March 21 through Sunday, March 24.
A release from State Police says troopers and liquor enforcement officers will be “actively patrolling neighborhoods and highways in an effort to promptly investigate all observed and reported criminal activity and traffic violations that would negatively affect the quality of life in our community, i.e., DUI, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct, scattering rubbish, obstructing highways and other public passages, etc.”
Residents and other people in the area should be aware they could see troopers on horseback.
State Police are encouraging people to enjoy the weekend and stay safe. If anyone sees any suspicious activity, call 911.
