Popular Pappan's Restaurant founder dies at 92

The founder of a former and popular local restaurant chain has died.

Lou Pappan, the founder of Pappan's family restaurant was 92, according to the Beaver County Times.


Pappan emigrated to the United States from Greece and began his journey in business in 1955.

Pappan opened his first location in New Brighton, Beaver County in the early 1960s, eventually operating nearly 40 locations by the early 1990s, with over 1,200 employees.

He also ran several Roy Rogers locations and was involved in real estate and development.

He told the Tribune Review back in 2005, "My first love was the restaurants, and the second was the real estate."

While he had over business ventures, Pappan was best known for his restaurants and television commercials that always ended with "You gonna like it."

Beaver County-based Gabauer is handling funeral arrangements.
