Part of Route 8 in Etna reopens after serious accident

UPDATE: Route 8 has reopened in both directions

Allegheny County Police have provided more details after the accident on Route 8 and Kittaning Street.

Investigators says a Mercedes Sedan hit a Dodge Ram pickup truck as it was turning right onto Route 8.

Two adult men in each of the vehicles were taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Route 8 in Etna is closed in both directions after a serious accident.

Latest traffic updates every 10 minutes on the 5s.

PennDOT says the road is closed between Kittanning Street and Route 28. All ramps at the Route 28 interchange at Route 8 are closed as well.

Homicide detective are on the scene of the crash with a least one person taken to the hospital.

At least two cars were involved in the accident with several others possibly that were unoccupied at the time.

No word on when the road will reopen.
