A PennDOT employee died after he was run over by his own truck.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, 51-year-old Timothy Fitch of Wilcox, PA was offloading construction equipment from his PennDOT truck Monday in a gravel pull-off around 12:30pm on Portland Mills Road in Ridgeway Township in Elk County.
While Fitch was unloading the equipment, the truck rolled backward. Police say he was unable move out of the way in time and the driver's side rear tires rolled over him and pinned him down.
Despite efforts of a passing motorist, who police say tried to help Fitch by moving the truck, Fitch died at the scene due to his injuries.
