Peters Police are waning residents about a series of home burglaries in the township and neighboring communities.
The department suggests homeowners with an alarm system to make sure it's on when leaving, installing indoor and outdoor security cameras, putting jewelry, cash and precious metals in a safe and requesting a police vacation check before traveling.
They also say to not assume an alarm is false, do not post vacation plays online, do not post photos of the inside of your home on social media and do not post expensive items you own on social media.
The break-ins are occurring between noon and 9 p.m. and police believe a South American theft ring is behind them.
Peter’s Township Police say they arrested a similar groups back in August 2022 and are working with other local agencies in an effort to help solve the crimes.
