Picklesburgh, the popular event in Downtown Pittsburgh is open on Friday, despite poor air quality conditions.
In a release, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership says, “We’ve made the decision to open Picklesburgh as planned today at noon.”
The DPP says that “we’ll continue monitoring conditions throughout the day and have given vendors and staff the flexibility to decide what’s best for them.”
“We encourage everyone to use their own judgement when deciding whether to attend. We understand some people may choose to sit today out. We’re hopeful conditions improve and look forward to a great rest of the weekend,” the statement concludes.
Picklesburgh is located along the Roberto Clemente and Andy Warhol Bridges, Arts Landing, Duquesne Boulevard, Allegheny Landing on the North Shore and other areas.

The entire Pittsburgh region is under a “code purple” air alert, meaning the air outside is considered very unhealthy to hazardous.
The air is expected to begin to improve on Saturday.
