The Pirates will honor late Pittsburgh artist Mac Miller with his own bobblehead at PNC Park this summer.
The Pirates announce Thursday that they’ll “Celebrate Mac Miller” on July 19 against the Chicago White Sox.
The Pirates and Pittsburgh were big themes in Miller’s music.
In a video previewing the celebration, the Pirates got fans to express how much Miller and his music meant to them.
Miller was the Pirates guest a few times at PNC Park, during his career.

Miller died of an accidental drug overdose at his Los Angeles home in 2018.
Miller, born Malcom James McCormick, grew up in the Point Breese area of Pittsburgh and Graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School.
The Miller estate released the posthumous album “Balloonerism” earlier this year.
“It is a project that was of great importance to Malcom - to the extent that he commissioned artwork for it and discussions concerning when it should be released were had regularly, though ultimately GO:OD AM and subsequent albums ended up taking precedence,” the estate wrote a the time of release.
“Circles”, the first posthumous release came out in 2020.
