Pittsburgh among top 10 cities for Christmas

The City of Pittsburgh may need to change it's colors from black & gold to red & green. At least for the holiday season.

According to a new study, Pittsburgh ranked sixth as one of the best places for Christmas this year - even as the COVID-19 pandemic continues throughout the region.


To determine the rankings, WalletHub looked at 15 factors from 100 of America's cities ranging from coronavirus case counts, Christmas traditions, Christian population and generosity.

Here's how Pittsburgh ranked in key areas (1=best, 50=average)

9th – Avg. COVID-19 Cases in the Past Week per Capita
55th – Restaurant Meal Costs
16th – Food Banks per Capita
4th – % of Christian Population
17th – Online Giving per Capita

Making up the top five are Raleigh, NC, Oakland, CA, Honolulu, HI, San Jose, CA and at number one - Durham, NC.
