UPDATE: Popeye's in Robinson Township reopened on Thursday, May 9.

A local Popeye’s Louisiana Kitchen has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.

The Popeye’s in Robinson Township, on Steubenville Pike was hit with eight violations after an inspection on Tuesday, May 7.

According to a report, the restaurant is “not properly washing, rinsing, and sanitizing dishes. Many dishes including pans and lids that are on the wire racks and designated clean have excessive grease and food debris accumulation, the Health Department wrote. “REPEAT VIOLATION.”

That is considered a high-risk violation.

A couple medium-risk violations were also reported.

No hot water is available in the men’s and women’s hand sink restrooms. That is a repeat violation. And, the certified manager on site “failed to prevent high and medium risk repeat violations.”

All over violations recorded were considered low-risk.

You can see the latest updates on the closure on the County’s website.

As of May 8, the closure is still active.
