UPDATE: This Consumer Alert has been lifted as of April 3.

A Consumer Alert has been issued for a breakfast, lunch and brunch restaurant in Pittsburgh.

Waffle INCaffeinated on East Carson Street in the South Side was hit with the alert by the Allegheny County Health Department on March 29.

Violations include issues with personal hygiene, cleaning, pest management and more.

High risk violations include rodent dropping found on the top of the restaurant’s dish machine.

Dropping were also seen near the dish machine and in a nearby sink, as well as shelves in the kitchen that have utensils and cutting boards and at the coffee station and in the dining room.

Chew marks and evidence of nesting material was also found in the restaurant.

A medium risk was also reported.

“Certified Food Protection Manager did not adhere to strict rodent dropping removal and cleaning of the highly affected areas for future monitoring of pest activity,” and inspection report reads.

Another medium risk reported was containers of cooked chicken misdated.

The Consumer Alert is still active on the ACHD’s website as of Tuesday morning, April 2.
