You may not expect to see a coyote in Oakland, but Pittsburgh Police Animal Control and Care officers say they recently had to rescue a not so wily coyote that got stuck between two walls in an alley.
The animal control officers spent several hours working to free the coyote on Atwood Street which was then relocated to a wooded area outside the City.
Officials say the incident is a good reminder that coyotes can be found in urban areas and are especially active during the day.
If you should cross paths with one, police say to try to look as large as possible and make noise to scare it.
But don't run, because that may trigger the coyote's chase instinct.
