This year will mark the 30th Annual Pittsburgh Irish Festival and organizers say planning for the occasion is underway.

The three-day outdoor event is expected to take place September 10-12 in the lots at Sandcastle.

“At this point in time, we are feeling confident that we can hold the Festival in-person in September, and do so safely,” says Mairin Petrone, Pittsburgh Irish Festival Executive Director.

“We are watching the situation closely and are consulting with health experts on a regular basis to make sure every necessary precaution is put into place. The Irish (and our friends) are a resilient and adaptable group, so we hope folks will save the date, and be on the lookout for frequent announcements from our team!”

The festival will feature entertainment and Irish foods.

Like so many other events, last year's Irish Festival was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this month, it was announced that the Pittsburgh St. Patrick's Day Parade would be held in the fall. Parade officials say they hope to hold it on September 18.
