A 2-alarm fire broke out in a home on Gibson Street in Pittsburgh just after 3am Thursday morning.

The fire spread from the first floor to the second and third of the home.

A man and a woman were evacuated from the house safely, but the man went into cardiac arrest when he was outside of the home. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition. Medics were able to reestablish a pulse while headed to the hospital.

Police and fire will continue to investigate the fire to determine a cause.
