
Pittsburgh Police announced Monday two men were arrested on Friday for criminal mischief after they a local bridge was tagged with graffiti.
A Graffiti Squad detective was conducting an undercover surveillance detail on the Anderson Bridge, which connects Oakland to Schenley Park, when he saw two males stop in the middle of the bridge on bikes and pulled out spray paints.
The detective heard the males talking about where they have painted previously on the bridge.
The bridge has been tagged “almost daily” over the past several weeks with the Department of Public Works painting over the tags “which have been mainly vulgar in nature.”
The two 20-year-old men were arrested and charged with criminal mischief, intentionally damaging property, criminal conspiracy and more.
They were charged and released on their own recognizance. A court date is set for the future.
About $1,000 in damage was done.
